4K Walk -- Open to both men and women. The 4K Walk, which also starts at Nat Bailey, was added to allow husbands, fathers, sons and friends to participate, raise pledge money and show their support. The 4km route follows its own separate course. Please note, the 4K is not timed. No results will be posted.

The Cause:
Breast cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency
French Dressing Jeanswear Women's 8K supports the BC Cancer Agency's world-leading breast cancer research programs. The BC Cancer Agency is responsible for cancer care and breakthrough research for everyone in BC. The five-year survival rate for breast cancer is now 86% - help us achieve 100%.

Collect Pledges and help women with breast cancer live longer. This Mother's Day, do it for Mom! The funds you collect will go directly to breast cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency. A great incentive prize program is offered (for more information, please download the .pdf of the entry form). Last year over $89,000 was raised. Daisy Dusangh, a former 8K participant, lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 28. To celebrate her memory, the Daisy's Hope Memorial Trophy recognizes the team who raises the most money. Help us set a new record to help women like Daisy!

Event organizers and the BC Cancer Foundation thank all sponsors, participants, volunteers, and pledge donors for making this event such a success.

The Course:
Race morning starts off at Nat Bailey Stadium, and follows a well marked 8 km route through Queen Elizabeth Park and residential streets. Marshals will be positioned along the course to cheer participants on all the way to the finish line. The course is primarily flat with some uphill grades. There is a parking lot at Nat Bailey Stadium on Clancy Loranger Way off Midlothian Ave. Post-race festivities will also be held at Nat Bailey. The 4K Walk will also start at Nat Bailey, but it will follow its own well-marked route.

The Event:
The event consists of a series of stations that will be scattered throughout Queen Elizabeth Park. At the start, participants will be given a set of maps and instructions that are specific to your division: fun or challenge. After reading the instructions, you must determine the best way to hit all of the stations in the shortest time possible. Planning your strategy is important! Strategy is just as important as speed.

Along with the map and instructions, you will also receive a passport that must be stamped at each station. You may visit the stations in any order you feel is most efficient in terms of directness, type of activity, and line-up potential. Stations not completed successfully will result in time adjustments.
